This book will instruct you in training your dog to dial the Assistance Dog Phone either on command, or based on associating your medical condition (seizures, diabetes, POTS, etc.) as the cue. With consistency dogs learn to dial the phone automatically when you suffer from one of these medical conditions regularly, which would be once a month or more. As an example, dogs can learn to automatically dial the phone when the handler is having a seizure, even when the handler cannot command them to do so. This is a life-saving task trained in dogs, as the dog can call for help when the handler is unconscious. This takes training and consistency on the handler’s part.
